What was the challenge?

Talenti gelato & sorbetto have long been an icon in the freezer aisle.

They are known for their see through simple jar, clearly crafted recipes, real ingredients, and an ever-growing list of delicious flavors. After we helped Talenti launch their Talenti Layers collections back in 2018, we were commissioned to help solve a new and exciting challenge for the brand – taking a bold step outside the jar with new brand and packaging design for a new novelty frozen dessert – mini gelato & sorbetto bars.

What was our thinking?

With Talenti ready to take on the spoon-less world, we got to work; looking for current brand equities that could evolve with us, while also crafting a new brand experience.

We looked at creating an ownable toolbox of visual and verbal brand assets that would be unique to the current categories environment to help Talenti launch their new mini bars and stand out from the crowd.

What did we do?

We looked beyond the Talenti pints packaging, what would this beloved gelato brand bring to this new category.

Talenti is raising the bar on novelty ice cream. We created a visual world along with the packaging for Talenti Mini Gelato Bars that is a balance of their crafted gelato heritage, with a minimal aesthetic. We balanced considered typography with the realness they are known for, along with a slightly bolder side of indulgence that plays well in this new category.

What did we achieve?

With the new Talenti Mini Bars packaging we are also paving the way the brands growth in new innovations, we launched these designs with a new rich brand color of dark blue to stake claim in the frozen dessert aisle, accented with vibrant natural colors, and an impactful invitation to indulge with a photo-real flavor experience to our photography and art direction. We went from jar to bar in an exciting way that draws you in, and truly pops on shelf.
